Challenge of the Day

I have to say that this is going to be the easiest challenge I faced all day...all week in fact!

Retro Sketches
put together a challenge that I couldn't pass up...I used some "mesh stuff" that I found in one of my treasure troves...I think it was originally a mesh bag from the produce section that had onions or garlic (or citrus or whatever) in it. Nothing like re-purposing...and it didn't smell like onions! I have never made a 3-D element like this!

Check out the sketch:

And my take on it:

Hope you are enjoying this wierd, short work week!

Rainy Labor Day in North Georgia

I am hoping to inject a little sunshine into a stormy day at our little cabin in the woods.

My challenge is from Freshly Made Sketches:(http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2012/09/still-time-to-play.html?m=1)

Hope you've have a lovely holiday weekend!

The Challenge at Hand

While Florida is readying for the challenge of Hurricane Isaac's arrival, I have been enjoying a remarkably comfortable August weekend in North Georgia. Our little cabin is nestled in the woods, where we are spoiled with 82 degrees and low humidity. I am lucky to have a wide, deep, covered porch where I "camp" at a little table in the shade, with all my stamping goodies spread out in front of me. My next door neighbor has a new habit of stopping over when I am out here playing...I really think Miss Becky may be a little jealous!

I obviously am not facing any real challenges, except those posed by Colour Q #151 (http://colourq.blogspot.com/2012/08/colourq-challenge-151.html?m=1) and Freshly Made Sketches FMS49 (http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2012/08/still-time-to-play-at-freshly-made_25.html?m=1).

Of course, I love these colors---they are actually very close to my high school colors---YAY Santa Teresa HS! I'm also excited because I just got some new SU! Stamping Spots, and FINALLY have Pumpkin Pie!

As always, the sketch was straight forward, clean and simple (which is what Freshly Made is all about, right?)

Hope you got a chance to have fun this weekend like I did!

More Challenges!

Freshly Made Sketches set up a challenge (#47) that made me get to work again (!). My new found love of paper crafting challenges has charged me up, and while I am not too skilled at any of this, I seem to be getting better week by week.

Tuesday Trigger---

In answer to the Tuesday Trigger: Type Hype Revisited (8/7/2012), I put together a little card. The colors from this old fashioned typewriter are what inspired me. I've never seen rainbow colored coffee beans in real life, but this is what creativity is all about, right?

Visit Moxie Fab World for some terrific inspiration EVERYDAY! http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/08/tuesday-trigger-type-hype-revisited.html?m=1

Trying some more!

I'm having lots of fun in my craft room this summer (sometimes, when it's a mess, hubby calls it the "crap room"). On these very HOT Atlanta days, as long as the fan is running, my dog is at my side keeping me company. Ranger, our Brittany Spaniel, usually doesn't have an opinion about what I'm working on.

Freshly Made Sketches offered another opportunity for me to create something to submit to their weekly challenge. Take a minute to enjoy their blog and get some inspiration! http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2012/07/freshly-made-sketches-45-sketch-by-cindy.html?m=1

Simple, clean designs are the only way to go for me---did I mention, I'm creatively challenged? I think I may have created the most complex card I have ever made. I'll bet this looks like kindergarten level work for most of you who have been doing this for awhile, but it was definitely a challenge for me. Check it out below!

First Ever Challenge Post

So this blogging thing is trying to cut my life short! Doing this from the iPhone is much more CHALLENGING than the darn papercrafting challenge itself was!

I originally planned on submitting my card to 3 blogs. Alas, I couldn't get my pic to load soon enough to make the posting deadline for the Colour Q challenge (you will notice that I did use SU colors: Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Kraft, Basic Black and White).

However, I am posting this for challenge FMS44 from Freshly Made Sketches (http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2012/07/freshly-made-sketches-44-sketch-from.html?m=1). Also, I'm throwing my hat in the ring for Moxie Fab World's Stamp It! Cards Week "Hello Card" Challenge (http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/06/stamp-it-cards-week-hello-card.html?m=1).

Simple is best for me, since I am absolutely creatively challenged...besides, I love circles and saying "Hello".

Hopefully this will actually post...now to try to link it to FMS and Moxie Fab World! Wish me luck...
